Monarchs Milkweed and More

Ligonier is thrilled to announce the return of Monarchs, Milkweeds, and More—a beloved family-friendly event celebrating pollinators and native plants! Come buzz through the gardens with us and enjoy a day of art, nature, and family fun! A suggested donation of $10 per family will support the museum’s gardens and essential pollinator programs.

In partnership with Penguin Court and Brandywine Conservancy, there will “bee” something for everyone!

· A special presentation by Dr. Michelle Duennes, Associate Professor of Biology at Saint Vincent College, on the fascinating world of Pennsylvania’s native bumble bees.

· Monarch tagging demonstrations with staff from Penguin Court, offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about the butterfly life cycle and migration patterns.

· Discover Westmoreland/Westmoreland Heritage for America’s 250th—learn about our region’s historic birthday celebration!

· Interactive family activities hosted by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners, including the fun-filled Bee Spinner Game.
