Art Transports Us

An Interactive, Virtual Field Trip

Art Transports Us is a virtual field trip to SAMA Ligonier and SAMA Loretto. This interactive tour highlights the cycle of inspiration from visual arts to student learners to professional dancers. Created in collaboration with Attack Theatre and third grade students at Stanwood Elementary, this virtual field trip features 10 dance vignettes inspired by conversations with the students about select works of art from Loretto’s Biennial Exhibition and Ligonier’s Southwestern Pennsylvania Council for the Arts 25th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition (2020).

Read more about this project at attacktheatre.com.

This project was made possible through the AIE Partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Art (PCA), a state agency. State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The PCA Arts in Education Partner in this region is SAMA. Additional support comes from Hempfield Area School Board of Directors and Administration and Stanwood Elementary.
