About the Event
Experience the colorful jubilee at these opportunities to meet the artists in person! Learn from the artists as they share information about their work and inspiration during artist talks. Michael Allison will be here after hours on July 2nd at 4:30 p.m. These events are free to attend, however, we suggest a $10 donation at registration to help support this program and other programs offered by SAMA.Â
Michael Allison has, for the past 40 years, been involved in a variety of art related projects in this region. As the former curator of the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, he was responsible for over 25 exhibitions held at the museum and it's outreach galleries. He served for a period on the Visual Arts Advisory Panel of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. He also has been directly involved with the Blair County Arts Festival and was the founder of the arts organization Art in Common. He has taught privately and has served as an artist in residence in the Pennsylvania school system. This exhibition, titled The Vibrant Indefinite: Works by Michael Allison and Anthony Porter, opens Saturday, May 28th and closes Saturday, July 24th, 2021. The exhibition will feature colorful abstractions by both artists.
