Altoona Exhibition Opening Reception

Prior to the reception will be a ribbon cutting for their newly installed Lending Library and Food Pantry on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 at 4:30 pm. Starting at 5:00 p.m., explore Wilson's landscapes as you travel through places like Maine, Rhode Island, England, Italy, and much more as you tour the artwork. Philadelphia-based artist Elizabeth Wilson's soft paintings are technical marvels and studies on the beautiful scenes surrounding us. The quiet energy of each painting captivates visitors throughout the exhibition. Elizabeth Wilson's travel experience is reflected in her work as a direct response to her environment; she has credited traveling with providing her a rich source of subject matter and new ideas. Her artwork traces her life through pandemic isolation and travels through beautiful country sides. Her work embodies a strong sense of time, place and visual harmony achieved in part through careful editing and at times shift towards abstraction. The paintings in this solo exhibition document a spirit of place.
