To Have or Have Not

Step into the world of Walker Evans and Ernest Hemingway through a special film experience at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. In connection with Walker Evans in Cuba: The Ernest Hemingway Collection, SAMA will present two screenings of the classic 1944 film To Have or Have Not, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Join us for a Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 PM matinee or a Friday, May 8 at 6:00 PM evening showing. This romantic war-adventure film, inspired by Hemingway’s novel, brings to life the atmosphere and stories reflected in Evans’s photographs of 1930s Cuba. Registration is encouraged. A suggested $5 donation supports this and future SAMA programs. Popcorn and drinks will be available—just bring a friend and enjoy the show!
