About the Event

In partnership with Art in Common, is pleased to announce a series of “Community Create Togethers”. Join fellow artists, creatives, and observers each Friday early evening at 4:30 p.m. from August 6th through October 22nd at a different community location. This plein air group will meet each week to create artwork alongside each other. Bring your paints, your pencils, your camera, and any creative tool to make artwork surrounded by other artists.

Participants who attend three or more sessions will be invited to exhibit in the group exhibition at SAMA Altoona in spring 2022 to display work created during these sessions. The schedule for August is as follows:

August 13th - Chimney Rocks

August 20th - the grounds at Fort Roberdeau

August 27th - the grounds at Baker Mansion

Please note that at Fort Roberdeau and Baker Mansion, we will be creating outside. We will NOT be creating inside these facilities.

Please register for up to date information, meeting spots, and necessary weather dependent adjustments. September locations will be announced soon! These events are FREE and open to all levels of knowledge and skill. A $5 donation is suggested to aid the participating nonprofits. Please bring your own preferred supplies; they will not be provided. There will be no instruction - you have the freedom to just create together!

SAMA is grateful for the efforts of Art in Common, Baker Mansion and the Blair County Historical Society, and Fort Roberdeau.
