Altoona Servello Opening Reception

The world as seen through Joe Servello is a unique perspective and this exhibition, opening on March 25th, 2022 and closing on June 19th, 2022, is a retrospective of Joe Servello’s past 30 years. SAMA (Altoona) will host an opening reception for the public on March 25th, 2022 at 6:00 pm with light refreshments. Joe Servello is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and Altoona Area School District. He worked as a graphic designer, an art director, theater designer, and an art teacher in both Philadelphia and New York. In 1986, Servello returned to his hometown of Altoona, where he continued his career as an illustrator, painter, muralist, and teacher. This exhibition will be his first in over a decade and his return to downtown Altoona where his art gallery was formerly located. Servello’s work can be seen throughout the world. Servello’s illustrations grace the covers of dozens of books, including Danny at the Mishler and  Trouble in Bugland.
