SAMA AUXILIARY PLANS VISIT TO PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW
Altoona – The Auxiliary of the Southern Alleghenies Museum
of Art is planning a bus trip to visit the 2010 Philadelphia
International Flower Show on March 2. Price is $85 per
person, with a $25 non-refundable deposit due with
reservation. Due to limited seating, reservations are
required by February 24 and can be made by calling (814)
472-3920.
The
Philadelphia International Flower Show is considered the
premier gardening event of its kind in the world in part
because of the diversity of the plants. The 2010 show will
take viewers around the globe with breathtaking stops in
India, Brazil, the Netherlands, South Africa, New Zealand
and Singapore. Thousands of plant and floral designs will be
on display, and 150 free gardening presentations will be
held throughout the week, in addition to dozens of
educational displays that explore the newest gardening
trends. Shoppers will find a bustling marketplace with an
array of take-home products to get the garden started, and
the event also includes an International Wine and Spirits
Garden and International Dessert and Coffee Bar.
Departure is
scheduled for 7 a.m. on March 2 from the Lowe’s parking lot
in Altoona. There will be a stop on the return trip at the
King of Prussia Mall, where guests can shop or have dinner.
The bus is expected to return to Altoona at 10:30 p.m.
