RESIDENCY ARTIST APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED
Loretto – The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art is
accepting applications for artists who wish to be included
in the 2008 Directory of Pennsylvania Artists-in-Education
and the Museum’s Arts-in-Education catalogue. Artists from a
variety of disciplines, including painting, sculpting,
ceramics, photography, fiber arts, graphic design, computer
arts, dance, literary arts, music and theatre are encouraged
to apply.
Artist applications may be
downloaded from the Museum’s website, www.sama-art.org.
Applications must be submitted, along with work samples, to
the Museum by February 1, 2008. The interview process will
begin in March.
The Pennsylvania Council on
the Arts directory for Arts-in-Education is used by schools
and community organizations throughout the state. In
addition, only artists listed in the directory are eligible
for council-funded residencies and education projects.
Successful applicants will be rostered in SAMA’s
Arts-in-Education directory for three years. SAMA’s
award-winning education programs serve approximately 45,000
students in more than 60 public and private schools in
Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland
counties. For more information, please contact Liz Garlena,
