Altoona — The Southern
Alleghenies Museum of Art at Altoona is featuring the duo
Wood-N-Strings at its next installment of the Blue Monday
series on July 9. Blue Monday is an informal
evening celebrating art and music. The program runs from 6
to 8 p.m. and includes hors d’oeuvres and libations.
Wood-N-Strings is an
Altoona-based acoustic duo that plays a mix of everything
from blues to bluegrass to classic rock. With a repertoire
of over 300 songs, exquisite playing and vocal harmonies,
visitors are sure to be impressed by this feel-good band.
Cost for the Blue
Monday program is $20 per person, and reservations must
be made by the Friday preceding the event by calling the
Museum at (814) 946-4464.
Two exhibitions are
currently on view at the Museum: The Art of Peter Frantz
and Four Lenses-Four Views: Gary Baranec, Sandra Halpern,

abstract sculptures, as well as tabletop sculptures and 3-D
wall pieces. The exhibition is on view until August 5.
Four Lenses-Four Views features four Pennsylvania
photographers who use widely varying styles but still
deliver striking and thought provoking images. The exhibit
