Raku-fired anthropomorphic figures are the specialty of Pennsylvania artist Helen Gorsuch.  Inspired by nature, religions, mythology, classical pottery and ancient and folk cultures, her works are also satirical comments on human behavior.  Currently residing in Altoona, Gorsuch was born in Florida and received her baccalaureate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1962.
